Galeri Nev

Galeri Nev, with branch offices in Istanbul and Ankara, is one of the oldest contemporary art galleries in Turkey. Galeri Nev was founded in 1984 by two architects, Ali Artun and Haldun Dostoğlu. Since its establishment, more than 300 exhibitions have been held in the gallery’s venues in Ankara and Istanbul. These exhibitions mainly featured the “first modernists” of Turkey: the representatives of the post-World War II generation and the two following generations. Nev has also opened its doors to European modernism through the shows of Alechinsky, Bonnard, Dali, Dubuffet, Picasso, Pedersen and Saura. In addition, Nev has provided a place for contemporary art from the United States, Canada, South America, Africa and Japan. Among the existing galleries in Turkey, Galeri Nev was the first to venture into the field of international art fairs, and it is with the Stockholm, Madrid (ARCO) and Athens art fairs that many artists from Turkey were represented abroad for the first time. The gallery is also unique in editing and publishing over a hundred limited edition reproductions and numerous volumes of art books and catalogues to date.

Sub

Founded in Çanakkale’s multicultural neighborhood Havra in 2017 by İlayda Tunca’s initiative, the space has transformed into a 90m2s studio, exhibition space and residency.

The five-month culture and art project by RJNR, coordinated by Hazal Sipahi in 2018, aimed to create an alternative and safe space in Çanakkale where especially young people could find inspiration and motivation to creatively and freely reflect on the contemporary issues that surround themselves. The project hosted 21 guests and 20 events.

In 2019 sub will continue with similar projects to RJNR and with the initiative of İlayda Tunca, Hazal Sipahi, Berna Küpeli, Emin Yu, Melih Aydemir, Selver Yıldırım and Orhan Mert.

Torun

Torun; was born out of the necessity of a space for sharing/exhibiting art in Küçükesat, Ankara. It is self-sustained through the support of its likeminded community, and aims to give its two-floored space completely to the artist, wondering how it would work far away from the contemporary art relationships. By organizing parallel events that would work in collaboration with the artists, Torun, seeks out to create a platform where discussion and talks would take place.
