Organised in the context of the 15th Istanbul Biennial titled a good neighbour, Seyhan Musaoğlu, founder of Space Debris and Anna Zizlsperger, founder of exhibist will present a diverse selection of contemporary art under the theme transnationalism/interculturalism & identity in an exhibition titled 'trans-ID', that will include sculpture, installation, drawing, photography, video works, sound art, and performances in an abandoned Armenian Church building located in the heart of Istanbul.
Including a significant amount of artists with a Turkish background, together with an array of artists from all around the world, the exhibition relates both to exhibist’s aim to be a platform for contemporary art in Turkey and Space Debris’ driving concept of connecting the Istanbul art scene with international artists for an innovative dialogue with a collective soul, challenging traditional boundaries. Set within the historical building of the Armenian church Surp Yerrortutyun in the heart of Istanbul, on Istiklal Street, the exhibition also references the century-old history of Istanbul as a platform for the exchange of different cultures and a transnationalism that preceded the 21st century.
